Strategy development will require a review of the following:

Is the current vision being realised?
Whether the company’s objectives have
  changed over the past three years
Why have the changes occurred or why
  have no change occurred?
Are the reasons internal or external?
What do customers think of the
How do staff view the company
Why has the business not achieved
  what it set out to do?
What will happen to the business if
  the current course is maintained?

Critically examine the strategies
  followed over the past few years e.g.:
The effectiveness of marketing and
  sales programmes.

R & D
What worked and what didn’t and why?
Reasons for differences between the
  actual and desired performance

Define the symptoms of problems and
  reach the underlying causes.
